It is a solid solution alloy that may be hardened only by cold working .

excellent resistance to many corrosive environment.

Alloy 400 is widely used in many fields ,especially marine and chemical processing ,

Delivery Conditions :

1. Annealed - Soft,with a dull matte finish

2. Stress Relieved - Thermally treated below the annealing tempreature to relieve the major portion of the internal stress, with a thin , light to medium-dark surface

Characteristics:

3.Highly resistant to chloride and sulfide stress corrosion cracking

4. Resistant to aqueous corrosion and chloride ion stress corrosion cracking

5. High temperature resistant

6. Age-hardenable with a unique property of slow aging response that permits heating and cooling during annealing without the danger of cracking.
